Double podium spot for Gautam Singhania in Valencia 

Gautam Singhania, driving for Kessel Racing, clinched a double podium finish in the Coppa Shell category in the Ferrari Challenge Europe Championship in Valencia (Spain) over the weekend. He clinched second place in both races and that takes his podium count to nine.

Singhania said: “It has been a great racing weekend in Valencia with another double podium. The 2015 championship has panned out superbly with several close finishes and wins. I am eagerly looking forward to the finale in November in Mugello.”

In the first race, Singhania was behind leader Jacques Duyver entering the first corner and kept the lead. The Indian maintained his position even as there was a lot of action behind and finished second without any trouble.

The second race was a bit more dramatic. Pole sitter Fons Scheltema was aggressive and shut out Singhania and his teammate Jacques Duyver. Singhania then went into attack mode but was unable to move ahead and also making contact in the process. Leader Eric Pirnoth then dropped out and Duyver was in the lead. Singhania then overtook Scheltema with a determined move on lap 18 to take second place.

Singhania is second in the championship now, behind Duyver.

The finale takes place at Mugello from November 6-8.
